Richard is also available for recording projects/teaching/deps where available.
Richard Raymond.
I started playing bass guitar at the age of 16 and now xx years on (ha ha) i have played with many bands in the uk, and abroad in all types of venues from ships to pubs! You name it i played it. I have many musical influences, from Elvis to todays chart music.
Hi, I'm generally what's called an old school player, which is a bit of a bass groover. In the duo, bsharp, i add tight and fancy bass lines along side Gina powerful vocals, demo can be heard on this site. I have studied music over the years, and can be quite a flash player if needs must, but for me, grooving to get em moving is the key! I also teach bass. As well as Bassist, i am of course a DJ, and have worked along side bands such as M people, and of late, the upbeat Beatles, playing many top venues in the UK, and now also doing the sound for the band. I have also studied sound engineering, and recording engineering. I think this combination of skills, and a caring heart, and keen interest in music all makes for a great package that i can deliver to you on your special night!. I love music, and people, and you will find me friendly and reliable and open to suggestion. One thing i will say about my disco is you will get a great service at a great price.
MY C.V.C.V
Started playing bass guitar at the age of 15.
1985-1987 Personal bass lessons with Clive Gregory and Henry Thomas. Both very well acclaimed pro bass players.
1987-1990 Played many gigs with Beats working, a well known rock and pop covers band, and we played all over the UK.
1990-1991 Studied at Bass Tech in Wapping London. This was an intense theory and live performance course.
1991-1997 Played in Jet Black a British 60's rock n roll tribute band that covers shadows and all British rock n roll artists of the 60's. This was a very specialised band, with very select work, ranging from mini tours to supporting well know artist of the 60's and the band was also used as a backing band for Jet Harries (of the shadows) Graham, Fenton (matchbox) Screaming lord such, Leyton Summers (top Elvis tribute) Freddy fingers Lee and many more. This was a great band to be part of and I have met many famous artists from the 50-60's from Buddy holly's Crickets to Bill Hayleys Comets.
1997-2000 Intense personal training using books and videos and live playing.
1997-1999 Session work with Robin Auld (very well known south African artist (Notting hill carnival, Hammersmith Apollo etc) played in an originals band Mr Fabulous managed by a well known song writer, the band were offered deals , but none that was suitable) and many deps for bands stuck for a bassist!
1999-2001 Late show. A band I put together with a young group of friends/musos and this was very big on the Irish circuit, and toured Ireland.
1999-2002 Was with a band called Hungry hill. A very powerful 3 piece with Guitarist / singer EJ who was very big in Ireland for his song writing ability's, and Drummer George Vorous. This guy was a fantastic player, wrote 3 books on drumming with various endorsements. He moved back to S. Africa, but we remain good friends.
2001-2010 B-sharp. My own Business. This has gone from strength to strength, and has played all over the UK, in many of the leading Wedding and Function venues.
I also have taking access to music course level 1 and 2, and am looking to do level 3 this year, concentrating on live performance. This is the equivalent of Degree level.
I have taken a 6 week intensive course in sound reinforcement and recording using cubase sx, and sonar 5, and tape based recording.
I have also been on business study courses.
I am dedicated to playing and enjoying what I do for myself, and others, and always looking to expand, and improve in myself and in my playing.
I play 4/5/6 string fretted and 4/5 string fretless, and play in most styles.
Thank you
